Melissa Minelli's devotion to pet health has been going strong since before she took her first job in a veterinary clinic when she was 16 years old. One way she channels her passion is to encourage clients to develop—and stick to—a plan for keeping their furry friends at a healthful weight. This one step prevents so many problems from ever arising!

Melissa earned a degree in psychology from Miami University in Ohio and then completed a degree in veterinary technology at Parkland College, Champaign, in 2008. She is a member of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association.

At Furnetic, Melissa works with the oncology specialists from the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Urbana-Champaign who see patients at Furnetic twice a month. She loves getting to know these patients and being able to celebrate their successes in treatment.

In her free time Melissa likes to read, take her dog, Huckleberry, to the Lake County dog parks, walk the various neighborhoods of Chicago, and travel with her husband, Chris. She also enjoys sewing and making cat toys for her three kitties, Ted, Monkey, and Dudis.
